Josh Bernstock, MD, PhD, MPH, one of Centile Bioscience’s co-founders, guides the company’s clinical strategy as its Chief Medical Officer, ensuring its technology delivers practical value in clinical care, drug development, and research.
Dr. Bernstock is a neurosurgeon-scientist and entrepreneur whose work spans translational neuroscience, neuro-oncology, neuroprotection, and therapeutic development. He is currently affiliated with Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, and MD Anderson Cancer Center, following neurosurgical training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He has also conducted research at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT, including work with the Langer and Traverso laboratories, and was an NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholar. He earned his PhD from the University of Cambridge, his MD from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and his MPH from Columbia University.
Across his academic and clinical career, Dr. Bernstock has worked at the intersection of discovery, clinical practice, and technology development. That perspective shapes Centile Bioscience’s approach: building quantitative neuroimaging tools that are scientifically rigorous, clinically interpretable, and built to support work across patient care, clinical trials, therapeutic development, and precision neuroscience.
Having worked across surgery, translational research, and biotechnology, Dr. Bernstock brings a practical understanding of what it takes for promising science to reach the bedside and clinical trials. At Centile Bio, he helps ensure that the platform is developed around clinically meaningful questions, improving how neurological disease is measured, how patients are characterized and followed over time, and how meaningful endpoints are generated for both clinical care and therapeutic development.
